So that's it, I'm no longer a 20 something......I'm 30! I didn't freak out about getting older & I'm quite looking forward to living my 30s to the full. That being said, it does feel a little strange to be 30 now. Surely I should be feeling much more mature & wise now? Nope!
I kept the actual day very low key and just went out for a family lunch at The Moody Goose. The food was delicious & their walled gardens are perfect if you have a toddler who doesn't want to be contained for long. There were multiple vegetarian choices on the menu which is refreshing & having sampled them all I can say that they were all amazing! It's so nice to go to a restaurant and have good vegetarian options. We went to the Pony & Trap a while ago and I could not have been more disappointed with my meal, it was basically a bowl of undercooked, hard lentils with some chopped vegetables....certainly not worth the money they charged! Everybody had a lovely meal & we relaxed in the gardens afterwards. I highly recommend them if you're looking for somewhere family friendly to go for a special occasion. They went out of their way to make us welcome, even opening one of their B&B rooms up so that we had somewhere spacious to change Henry's nappy!
I received some lovely & thoughtful gifts & cards for my birthday and feel very lucky! Thank you to everybody who messaged me on the day as well, it was lovely. The only downside to the day was that poor Henry was extremely tired and a tad grumpy for much of it. He just had way too much fun & not enough naps on holiday and it had all caught up with him......he was exhausted! There was a plus side to this however which was that he slept through the night from 8pm to 6am which was nice! To be honest I think we were all feeling quite exhausted by the evening so after Henry went to sleep I spent the rest of my birthday curled up on the sofa eating birthday cakes & watching The Hunger Games on dvd! I know I'm a party animal right!
Anyway I hope that you are all having a lovely week and enjoying the indian summer weather that we seem to be having!
